For years, I have been intrigued by the egg — a perfect product of nature, concealed beneath a simple, almost banal form.
In itself, it is not a living being, but its biological and symbolic beginning.
I decided to set against this cradle of life the only certain event that every life will experience: death.
We have already seen, and will undoubtedly continue to see, many images depicting violence and death. My aim, however, is not to document events. I appeal to the imagination; I want each viewer to complete the rest of the stories for themselves — stories of which my photographs show only a fragment.
